Grant Applications are accepted by the Blair Area Community Foundation once a year. The deadline for applications is October 1. All submissions are reviewed and final notification is given to applicants by December 1. The amount of grant money available each year is determined by the contributions that the Foundation received from the community during the previous year.

2010 Grants - $23,000 Total
  • Blair Area YMCA, $3,000, Washer/dryer units for wellness program and improved child care management.

  • Blair Little League, $1,500, New benches for players in 6 dugouts for the 3 bigger fields.

  • Blair PTO, $1,500, for Family Fun Run, advertising for fun run and race day food/drinks.

  • Blair Public Library, $2,000, for Microfilm reader and computer.

  • Camp Fontanelle, $3,000, for Extending existing outdoor cabins and building permanent bunk beds.

  • Dana College Foundation, $1,500, for Start up costs for Dana College Alumni and Friends Assn.

  • Fort Calhoun Elem. Schools, $600, to Promote an incentive program for a healthy lifestyle by walking - childhood obesity.

  • Joseph's Coat, $3,300, for Commercial freezer for perishable items.

  • Teammates of Blair, $1,500, for Desktop computer for Teammates office.

  • Univ. of NE Extension, $2,000, for Purchase plant materials to develop an open lot at the Wash. Co. East Annex into an educational outdoor classroom.

  • Wash. Co. Historical Assn., $1,600, for Shelving for the storage of artifacts and lumber for wooden display boxes to house exhibits.

  • Fort Atkinson, $1,500, to Display a book of names of deceased/provide 2 benches/sign to invite visitors into the monument area.
